On Target Plus, Target refunds the shopper for every return and then charges the seller back, so you don't issue refunds or return authorizations yourself. Acenda brings Target Plus returns in so you can track them, but the refund, the chargeback and the return shipping are handled by Target.
How a Target Plus return works
The shopper returns the item at a Target store or starts a mail-in return on Target.com. Returns are free for the shopper.
Target gives the shopper a full refund: right away for a store return, or when the carrier scans the mail-in label.
Target charges you back for the return and adds a return service fee for shipping the item back. The deduction shows on your Target Plus payout.
Depending on the item's return policy, Target ships the item back to your return address or disposes of it.
Most items have a 30-day return window, and some shoppers get longer through Target programs. Some item types, such as many health and beauty items, can't be returned. You can't change an item's return window.
What you can and can't do
No refunds from you: You can't send partial refunds. If a shopper is unhappy, they return the item to Target for a full refund.
No RMAs: Target doesn't use seller return authorization numbers.
Don't refuse return shipments: Refused or postponed deliveries from Target's return center can lead to extra charges and can't be disputed.
Shopper contacts you: Send them to Target.com Guest Services.
Choose where returned items go
Each item has a return policy. By default, returned items come back to your return address and you're charged back for the sale. For items you don't want back, you can choose a policy where Target disposes of the item. You're still charged back and aren't reimbursed for the disposed item, but you don't pay the return service fee. Some item types, such as supplements and fragrance, default to disposal. Set the policy from Acenda with the Return Policy setting in How to find and update Target+ logistics settings.
Keep your return address and returns contact current in your Target+ Partner Portal so items reach the right warehouse.
Return service fees
Target charges the return service fee per unit, based on the item's package weight. Keep package weights accurate in Acenda so the fee is correct. Target publishes the current fee table in your Target+ Partner Portal.
Returns in Acenda
Acenda imports Target Plus returns so you can see them under ORDERS > Returns. A synced return doesn't put stock back automatically. If the returned units can be sold again, adjust your inventory. See How to manage returns in Acenda.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
Can I refund a Target Plus shopper myself? No. Target refunds the shopper. Sellers can't issue partial refunds.
Why was I charged for a return I never received? The item may have a disposal return policy, or the return may still be on its way from Target's return center. Check the item's return policy and the return's status.
Can I dispute a return chargeback? Yes, within Target's dispute window and rules. Check your Target+ Partner Portal for the current process.
Why didn't my inventory go up after a return? Returns don't add stock back automatically. Adjust the inventory once you've checked the item.
