Walmart Posting Templates

Overview

This article will explain posting templates available for Walmart. Posting Templates are used to map products in your portal's database with external marketplaces. Each posting template will preload with variables that you can modify if you choose.

1. To create posting templates, click Channels on the Dashboard, then click Posting Templates.

   

2. Click the + New Item button.

   

3. Complete the Posting Template form.

   • Template Name: Enter an internal name for this template, eg. bedding.

   • Channel Name: Select the Channel (eg. Walmart, Amazon) that you want this template to apply to.
   • Category: Type a category name and a list of relevant channel categories will populate.

4. Click Save.

   The new Posting Template will load. Now you can edit the posting template.

5. There are 12 tabs in the Posting Template.

   • Base: These attributes are generic to all categories on the marketplace.
   • Category Specific: These attributes apply to the specific category within the marketplace.
   • Additional: Create your own custom attributes for a channel.
   • Variant Configuration: Allows you to customize the Product Variant values in the attribute dropdown on the Marketplace listing, eg. Size, Color.

   • Image Configuration: You can associate custom image types with specific channels.

   • Advanced Configuration: Allows you to use standard or custom fields for pricing and select a currency option.
   • Ship Overrides: Allows you to override your default shipping settings. This requires prior approval by Walmart and is generally applied to oversized items.
   • 2Day Shipping: Ensure this program is enabled via your walmart service before configuring, or these values will be ignored. For more information about Walmart’s 2-Day Shipping program, click here.
   • Enhanced Returns: Ensure this program is enabled and configured via your walmart seller portal before configuring, or these values will be ignored. For more information about Walmart's Enhanced Returns Program, click here.
   • Clone: Allows you to clone mapped values from an existing posting template.
   • Assigned Products: A list of all products assigned to the posting template.
   • Preview: Allows you to preview the Posting Template prior to launching. Enter a valid variant.sku value to test.

6. Map your posting template fields.

   • Select Expand to insert mapping value.

   • Click the i icon next to a given attribute for additional information.

   

   • Sample additional information.

   

   • Product Property: This is the default value. One selected, you can change the Value field to use a variable from the product model.
   • Static String: Enter a regular expression.
   • Twig Template: Create a Twig Template for the Attribute. For example if you want to join brand and variant name then you would enter: {{ name ~ ' ' ~ variant.name }}

7. Complete the required and/or optional mappings and click Save.
