Sell on eBay Stores (Fixed Price Marketplace)

Overview:

Selling on eBay has never been easier.  Acenda is natively integrated with eBay Stores.

Acenda's eBay integration allows you to sync your items and inventory in real time with eBay and seamlessly receive and update orders.

To get started follow the steps below:

Setup Ebay Store
1. Setup an eBay Store account.  We also suggest adjusting your site preferences on eBay.com > My eBay > Site Preferences for:
  • Sales Tax
  • International Shipping
  • Accepting Paypal
  • Exclude Shipping Locations (eg. PO Boxes, Puerto Rico, etc.)
  • Flat Rate Shipping

Note: New eBay accounts are subject to listing limits. Typically, this limit is set to 10 items for the first 30 days.  You can submit a request to eBay Support to increase to this limit after 30 days.

2. Setup your Business Policies - this is required.

  • Payment
  • Return
  • Shipping

These Policies must be created and mapped within the billing policy section of posting templates (discussed below in Step 11)

Note: If you have not enabled Business Policies for your account then you can do so by visiting here.

3. Setup a Paypal account and connect it to your eBay account.
Acenda Setup
1. From the Acenda dashboard click Services
2. Then click Services Library
The Services Library displays. Locate the "eBay" service tile.
3. Click Add Service

4. Enter the Service details:

  • Status: Toggle the eBay service on or off.
  • Title: Add a name to the service, eg. eBay Marketplace
  • Ebay Sandbox Enabled: If enabled then the service will user Sandbox (Test) mode.  Transactions will not process in Production mode.
  • Product Query: Filter the products that you wish to list on eBay.
  • eBay Authorization Email: Enter a valid email address that you have access to.  This does not need to be the email address associated with your eBay account. Acenda will send a verification email to this account.  You must then click on the link in the email and log into your eBay Account.  Once approved then your eBay Service will be active.
  • Warehouse Name ... Warehouse Postal Code: Enter the street address of the warehouse that your goods will ship from. This is used to determine transit time for orders.
  • Merchant Location Key: Create a key value for the warehouse location, eg. "mainwarehouse" (one word; lowercase; no spaces; alphanumeric; no special characters). You will need to enter this key value later into your ebay Posting Templates ("Base" tab > "Merchant Location Key" > select "Static String" value type > [enter the key value here, eg. mainwarehouse]).
  • Disable Item Setup: Check if you want to prevent Acenda from creating new item listings on eBay.

Troubleshooting:

If the email is not received within 24 hours then you must delete the eBay Service page (in the Acenda Admin Tool) and start this whole process over. We recommend using another email address in case a spam filter traps the email.  Visit Acenda Admin > Services > My Services and click on the "delete" button.  Then repeat Step 3 above.

5. From the Acenda dashboard click Products

6. Then click Products

7. Flag the items you wish to sell on eBay:

  • ebay_enabled: Set to "1" for Active or "0" for In-Active.  We recommend using the Product Import Tool to make batch changes.
  • ebay_id: This is the eBay listing ID. Acenda will automatically populate this field for new listings.  If you wish to connect to a pre-existing eBay item then enter the Listing ID in this field.
  • ebay_shipping_first: The $ shipping amount for the first item.
  • ebay_shipping_additional: The $ shipping amount per item after the first item, eg. quantity > 1.

8. Navigate to (Acenda Admin > Channels > Posting Templates)

NOTE: Posting Templates are used to map products in your store's database with external marketplaces. Each posting template will preload with variables that you can modify.  You must create a unique posting template for each ebay category.

COOL TIP: Enter search terms in the Category field and it will display results for the related eBay categories. Allow up to 30 seconds for the entire list of eBay categories to load.

  • Category: Select the appropriate product category.

11.  Wait for the page to complete loading.  Now you can edit the Posting Template:

`A. There are three primary tabs in the Posting Template: 1) Base Attributes, 2) Category Specific Attributes and 3) Additional Attributes.

  • Base: These attributes are required by the Marketplace.  We recommend that your attributes meet the specific definition requirements for eBay
    • "MERCHANT LOCATION KEY":  Select "Static String" and enter the value for you "Merchant Location Key" from Step 4 (above).
  • Category Specific: These attributes are optional and recommended.
  • Additional: Allows you to create a custom attribute for the Marketplace listing(s).  This is an advanced setting.
  • Variant Configuration: Select how you want your products to be grouped in the dropdown on the eBay listing's page.
  • Image Configuration: If you created custom image type for your eBay listings then select the appropriate image type.
  • Advanced Configuration: Select the price field that you want to associate with your eBay listings, eg. variant.price. Also, select the currency type.
  • Business Policies: Select your business policies from Step 2 above.
  • Preview:  Enter a valid SKU and Acenda will provide a sample result with the Posting Template rules.

B. Each Attribute can be customized by adjusting the Value Type:
