Target Plus: What do item statuses mean?

Learn what Pending, Approved, Rejected, Suspended and Unlisted mean for Target Plus items sent from Acenda, and what to do for each.

Target Plus gives every item sent from Acenda a status, Pending, Approved, Rejected, Suspended or Unlisted, that tells you where it stands in Target's review and whether you can fix it yourself. The status reflects the latest item update Target received, so an item can still be live with an older version while a newer update is Pending or Rejected.

Status definitions

Status

What it means

What to do

Pending

Target's system or item team is still reviewing the update.

Wait. If it stays Pending for more than 3 business days, open a case with Target Plus support.

Approved

The item passed Target's checks.

Nothing. It usually goes live on Target.com within a day.

Rejected

Required data is missing or there's a critical error.

Fix the error shown in Acenda's Item Issues and send the item again.

Suspended

Target won't move forward with the item, usually because it doesn't fit Target's merchandise strategy. Target unpublishes it and stops accepting updates.

Editing won't help. Open a case with Target Plus support or ask your Category Manager.

Unlisted

You've stopped carrying the item, so Target can release its barcode from your account.

Relist it if it comes back into stock.

Who sets Unlisted?

Unlisted is a status you control. Unlist items that won't be restocked, and keep items you'll restock at 0 inventory instead of unlisting them. See How to stop selling an item and How to set an inventory floor for a marketplace.

Why can low-selling items be removed?

Target's category teams review item productivity throughout the year. Items that have been live for three months or more with no sales, items with very high return rates, and items with lots of traffic but very few sales can be removed. Target tells you which items it removes. Reviewing your Target Plus catalog regularly and unlisting items that don't sell helps you stay ahead of these reviews.

Where to see status in Acenda

Open the item and check its Channel Status tab, or go to CHANNELS > Item Issues to see Target's errors. For fixes to specific errors, see How to fix marketplace listing errors.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

  • Why does an item show as live when its status is Rejected? The status is for the latest update. A previous approved version can stay live while the newer update is rejected.

  • My item has been Pending for days. What should I do? If it's been more than 3 business days, open a case with Target Plus support. Long Pending times usually mean a system issue on Target's side.

  • Can I fix a Suspended item by changing its content? No. Target doesn't accept updates for Suspended items. Contact Target Plus support or your Category Manager.

  • Why did my item disappear without an error? It may have been removed in a productivity review, or unlisted. Check its status in your Target+ Partner Portal and any notice from Target.
