Target Plus sometimes asks Acenda sellers to send extra attribute values for items in a category. Often this happens when Target adds a new required attribute, and Target may call these MTA values. To send them from Acenda, map the attribute on that category's posting template, then give each item a value Target accepts.
It takes four steps: find the attribute on the posting template, check the accepted values, map the attribute and fill in your items, then check the results.
Before you start: Have Target's request in front of you. You'll need the category (item type) and the exact attribute names Target listed. You also need a Target Plus posting template for that category. If you don't have one yet, see How to build a posting template.
Step 1: Find the attribute on the posting template
Click CHANNELS > Integrations in the sidebar.
Click Edit next to your Target Plus integration.
Open the Posting Templates tab.
Find the template for the category Target named. The list shows each template's ID and Category, plus its Assigned Products, Template Errors and Product Errors.
Click Edit on that template.
Type the attribute name exactly as Target gave it in Search attributes.
Click the attribute to expand it.
Tip: Click Unmapped Req'd in the footer bar to show only the required attributes that don't have a mapping yet. A newly required Target attribute will usually be on that list.
Step 2: Check the accepted values
The expanded attribute shows its type, the minimum and maximum number of values, and Target's description. If Target only accepts certain values, you'll also see a list headed Only these values will be accepted by the integration.
Use one of those values exactly as written, including spelling and capitalization. For other ways to look up accepted values, see How to find the allowed values for a marketplace field
What if the value you need isn't on the list?
Target adds new values on request, and you ask for them in your Target+ Partner Portal, not in Acenda.
In your Target+ Partner Portal, go to Items > Attributes & Values and click Request New Attribute Value.
Choose the item type and the attribute, enter the value you need, and explain which items need it.
Submit the request. Target usually reviews it within about two business days. If Target denies it, it may suggest a similar value that's already available.
Once the value is approved, fill it in on your items in Acenda.
Some attributes don't take requests and show Value Cannot Be Requested. For a new license property or character value, open a case with Target Plus support instead.
Step 3: Map the attribute and fill in your items
In the expanded attribute, choose a mapping:
String: Sends the same value for every item in this template. Use this when the answer is the same for all of them.
Property: Reads the value from a field on each item. Use this when the answer differs from item to item.
If the attribute accepts more than one value, click Add value after the first mapping to add another.
Click Save in the footer bar at the bottom of the screen.
If you used a Property mapping, give each item its value. Under CATALOG, click Items, open the item, and go to the Details tab. Marketplace fields are in the Additional Attributes section. Enter an accepted value in the field your template reads from, then save the item.
Updating many items? Use a Super Template instead. On the Posting Templates tab, download a blank Super Template for the category, fill in the values, and import it under DATA TRANSFERS > Imports. The importer accepts .xlsx, .csv, and .xlsm files. See How to generate and import a Super Template.
Step 4: Check the results
Acenda sends updated item data to Target automatically, usually within about an hour. Target then reviews the change, and that can take longer before it shows on the listing.
To check for problems, go to CHANNELS > Item Issues. If Target rejects a value, see How to fix marketplace listing errors.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
What if I can't find the attribute? Make sure you opened the template for the item's category. Search with part of the name, as Target's wording can differ slightly. If it's still missing a day later, contact Acenda Support with the category and attribute name.
Why does Target say the value isn't valid? The value must match one in the accepted list exactly. Re-check spelling, capitalization and spacing. If the value you need isn't on the list at all, request it from Target (see What if the value you need isn't on the list? above).
Why is the required-attribute error still there after I filled in the field? Check which field the template's Property mapping reads from. A common cause is filling in a field with a similar name that the template doesn't use.
Why did nothing change after I mapped the attribute? Make sure you clicked Save on the template. Unsaved mappings don't take effect.
Why does my Super Template import fail? Check the file is .xlsx, .csv, or .xlsm. Older .xls files are not accepted.
